Onion Paratha


Looking for  Breakfast ideas? Or want some delicious paratha recipes. Here is the Onion paratha in all its new avatar. ;) These parathas are not only very healthy but also the addition of besan (gram flour) imparts a very nice flavor as well as taste to it.Try these parathas and you will know how different they are from all other varieties.I usually eat them in my breakfast along with tea. You can also enjoy them with Curd and pickle.



Ingredients

Wheat Flour(aata)                     1/2 Cup
Gram Flour(Besan)                   1/2 Cup
Baking Powder                          1/4 tsp
Baking Soda                               a pinch
Yogurt/Curd)                             about 1/2 Cup
Onion,chopped finely                 3 medium
Coriander leaves,Chopped         1 bunch
Salt                                            1 tsp
Red Chilli powder                      1/2 tsp
Green Chillies                             3-4 (optional)
Oil /Ghee                                    as required


Method


  1. Take eaqual amount of atta and besan in a bowl or parat. 
  2. Add in baking powder, baking soda, salt, red chilli powder and mix.
  3. Mix finely chopped onion, coriander leaves and green chillies( if using) .
  4. Using Yougurt or curd knead a soft dough.
  5. Cover with a wrap and keep the dough aside for half an hour.
  6. Take  a small portion of the dough and roll it out into a medium paratha using dry flour when necessary.
  7. Apply a little oil in the center and fold the paratha as shown below or into any desired shape you want.




  8. Dust it with dry flour and roll out the paratha again.
  9. Heat a pan or tawa and cook the paratha on both sides using  oil as needed.





  10. Serve Hot with Tea or Curd.
