Hara Bhara Kebab
My last post was about Palak Paneer. I had some left over Spinach and so gave this kebab a try.
Kebab??!!Yes, That's true! This kebab is a vegetarian dish. And it's so healthy that there is no guilt after eating this.
Generally kebab is a dish of pieces of meat roasted or grilled on a skewer originating in the middle east.
Vegetarian kebab include Dalcha kebab,Kathal kebab,Arbi kebab,Rajma Galoti Kebab(kidney beans cooked with aromatic herbs),Zamikand kebab(Lucknowi yam kebabs) etc.
Ingredients:
Spinach,blanched and chopped 2 bunches
Green Peas,blanched and mashed 1/2 cup
Green Chillies,chopped 2 -3
Coriander leaves,chopped 2 tbsp
Potatoes,boiled and mashed 2
Chaat Masala 1 tbsp
CornFlour 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

Method
- Blanch the spinach and chop coarsely.
- Blanch the peas if not using frozen and mash them.
- Boil and mash the potatoes as well.
- In a bowl mix Spinach, peas, potatoes,green chillies and coriander leaves.
- Add Chaat masala, salt and cornflour for binding and mix well.
- Now shape the above mixture into round balls and flatten them under your palms by applying slight pressure shaping them into tikkis.
- Heat oil in a karahi/wok and deep fry the tikkis. Alternatively you can even shallow fry them.
